Pastor Angel Sparks Debate After Advising People to Marry for Wealth Instead of Love

A sermon delivered by Pastor Angel has generated widespread discussion on social media after the cleric advised men and women to prioritise financial stability over love when choosing a marriage partner.

The controversial message, which quickly went viral online, featured the pastor encouraging his congregation to approach marriage as a strategic financial decision rather than an emotional commitment. According to him, focusing on wealth and financial compatibility can create stronger and more sustainable unions.

During the sermon, Pastor Angel referenced what he described as practices among wealthy Jewish families. He claimed that many of these families view marriage as a long-term financial arrangement designed to strengthen family businesses, maintain wealth, and build powerful networks across generations.

According to the pastor, such marriages are not primarily driven by romance but by practical considerations that benefit both families. He explained that while many people focus on emotions when choosing a spouse, some wealthy communities place greater importance on economic compatibility and shared financial goals.

Pastor Angel argued that these strategic unions often lead to stronger economic partnerships. He suggested that marriages formed with financial considerations in mind can help families expand their wealth, strengthen business relationships, and maintain prosperity over time.

In defending his position, the cleric also compared divorce rates between religious communities. He claimed that Christian marriages reportedly have a divorce rate of about 55 percent, while Jewish marriages have a significantly lower rate of around 4 percent. According to him, this difference suggests that marriages based solely on emotions may be less stable in the long term.

“Love will fade, but financial stability continues to grow,” he stated, emphasizing his belief that economic compatibility plays a crucial role in maintaining lasting marriages.

The pastor further advised parents to be actively involved in their children’s marital decisions. He encouraged families to ensure that their sons and daughters choose partners from financially stable backgrounds, arguing that marriage should benefit not only the couple but also their extended families.

He explained that in many cases, families effectively become part of the union, which is why he believes financial standing should be carefully considered before marriage.

Pastor Angel also encouraged women to consider financial security when evaluating potential partners. According to him, if a man chooses a woman primarily for physical attraction, she should ensure that the relationship also offers financial stability.
