YOLO Actor John Peasah Mourns Late Father in Emotional Tribute

Ghanaian actor John Peasah, popularly known as Drogba from the hit television series YOLO, has paid a heartfelt tribute to his late father, Ben Peasah, weeks after announcing his passing.

The young actor, who has been battling health challenges in recent months, first shared the devastating news on January 22, 2026, through his official Instagram page. In the emotional post, Peasah revealed that his father had died but did not disclose the exact circumstances surrounding his passing. Reports suggested, however, that the late Ben Peasah had been dealing with health complications prior to his death.

Alongside the announcement, Peasah shared a short video believed to capture his father’s final moments while receiving treatment at the University of Ghana Medical Centre. The footage showed the elderly man on a hospital bed as family members surrounded him during his final days.

Expressing his grief in the caption, the actor questioned why his father’s death came so suddenly. “Dad, why? How can I handle this now? You left so quickly,” he wrote, reflecting the deep pain he felt following the loss.

The post quickly drew an outpouring of sympathy from fans, colleagues, and notable personalities across Ghana’s entertainment industry. Many flooded the comment section with messages of support, offering prayers and condolences to Peasah and his family during the difficult time.

In a separate video shared on TikTok, the actor appeared visibly emotional while attending a one-week memorial gathering held in honour of his father. The clip showed Peasah seated inside a luxury vehicle as a woman comforted him with encouraging words while he struggled to contain his emotions. Family members and close associates were also present at the solemn gathering.

During the moment, Peasah appeared overwhelmed by grief, with some observers noting that he had shed tears as loved ones tried to console him. Following the brief interaction, individuals nearby were seen helping him leave the venue and escorting him back home.
