A video circulating on social media has sparked mixed reactions after showing a pregnant woman breaking down in tears when her husband refused to go to their neighbour’s house to ask for jollof rice.
According to the video, the woman became emotional after perceiving the aroma of jollof rice being cooked by a neighbour, which immediately triggered a craving. Despite her husband explaining that he had already prepared soup for them to eat, she insisted that what she wanted was the neighbour’s jollof rice.
The pregnant woman reportedly declined to go herself, explaining that she did not want the neighbours to know she was the one craving the food.
“If I go now, they will know it’s me who wants to eat it,” she said.
When her husband refused to make the request on her behalf, she became visibly upset, sat down, and began crying, drawing attention to the situation.
The video quickly went viral, with many social media users sharing personal experiences and opinions about pregnancy cravings and emotional changes.
While some commenters expressed understanding and shared similar pregnancy-related stories, others criticised the behaviour, arguing that pregnancy should not excuse what they described as unreasonable demands.
The incident has since continued to fuel online discussions about pregnancy cravings, emotional support, and spousal understanding.
