Akosua Serwaa, the first wife of the late highlife legend Daddy Lumba, has spoken publicly about her late husband, offering a brief but powerful description that has sparked widespread discussion on social media.
In a live interview aired on Adom TV on January 17, 2026, Akosua Serwaa was asked by media personality Sally Mann to describe Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, in just one sentence. Responding with emotion and conviction, she described him as “the true definition of love.”
Expressing gratitude to Ghanaians for their support following the musician’s passing, she said, “Ghanaians, thank you all for the love and prayers you have given me. He is the true definition of love.” Her statement resonated with many viewers and quickly gained traction online.
The comment generated mixed reactions on social media, particularly on Instagram, where supporters and critics alike shared their views. Members of her support base, popularly known as “Team Legal Wives,” praised her courage and loyalty, applauding her for speaking positively about her late husband despite the long-standing controversies surrounding his personal life and estate.
Meanwhile, legal disputes concerning Daddy Lumba’s estate continue to draw public attention. Following the musician’s death, Akosua Serwaa applied for letters of administration to manage his estate after losing an initial case at the Kumasi High Court. Although an appeal was pending, the process was halted after Odo Broni, another partner of the late musician and mother of his six children, filed a caveat through her lawyers in January 2026.
Court documents that surfaced online later detailed the properties included in Akosua Serwaa’s application. These reportedly comprise residential properties in areas such as Dome, West Legon, Tantra Hill, and East Legon, as well as partial ownership of lands in Kasoa, Tuba, Amasaman, Tesano, and Kwadaso. The application also listed half ownership of Daddy Lumba’s Accra-based businesses, including DL FM and DL Water.
The total value of the known estate was estimated at approximately GHS 10.8 million, with Akosua Serwaa seeking a half share amounting to about GHS 5.4 million.
Separately, earlier reports highlighted an alleged list of assets jointly acquired by Daddy Lumba and Akosua Serwaa. Compiled by entertainment commentator Nana Frimpong Ziega, the list included several commercial ventures—such as a pure water factory, a ginger farm, and a school—as well as multiple residential properties in Kumasi and Accra.
As legal proceedings continue, Akosua Serwaa’s emotional tribute has added a human dimension to the ongoing public discourse, reminding many of the complex personal relationships behind the legacy of one of Ghana’s most celebrated musicians.
