Denise Fosuh Reappears in Ghana Weeks After Daddy Lumba’s Burial, Draws Attention at APD 2026

Denise Ama Saah Fosuh, the eldest daughter of the late Ghanaian highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosuh, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, has returned to Ghana weeks after her father’s burial in Kumasi, amid an ongoing legal dispute within the family.

Denise Fosuh was spotted in public on Friday, February 6, 2026, when she attended the Africa Prosperity Dialogues (APD), an event organised by the Africa Prosperity Network at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC). Her appearance marked her first public sighting in Ghana since the funeral of the legendary musician.

The Africa Prosperity Dialogues, founded by renowned lawyer Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, brought together high-profile dignitaries, policymakers, business leaders, and creatives from across the African continent. The 2026 edition concluded on February 6 after three days of discussions focused on economic transformation and regional cooperation.

Notable attendees included Sophia Kudjordji, Chief Corporate Communications Officer of the Jospong Group of Companies and Senior Public Relations Officer for PKA Leadership; veteran gospel musician Diana Asamoah; Grammy Award-winning Nigerian artiste Mr Eazi; and Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga. Musician Stonebwoy, Samia Nkrumah, and her son Kwame Thomas Melega were also present.

A video shared on TikTok by blogger Dek360 Ghana showed Denise Fosuh seated among associates at the event. She appeared elegant in a red dress and was seen engaging warmly in conversation with fellow attendees, drawing attention from social media users.

Background: Daddy Lumba’s Death and Family Dispute

Daddy Lumba passed away on July 26, 2025, at the age of 60. He was survived by two wives: Akosua Serwaa, whom he married traditionally in Ghana in 1991 and later under German civil law in 2004, and Priscilla Ofori Atta, popularly known as Odo Broni.

His funeral service was held on December 13, 2025, at Heroes Park near the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi. Following his death, a legal dispute emerged between the two widows over who should be recognised as his legitimate spouse.

Akosua Serwaa filed a case at the Kumasi High Court, seeking a declaration that she was Daddy Lumba’s sole legal wife. She argued that her marriage to the musician under German civil law invalidated any customary marriage arrangement with Odo Broni. However, the court, presided over by Justice Dorinda Smith Arthur, ruled against her after she failed to adequately prove the authenticity of her German marriage certificate.

Public Reactions

Denise Fosuh’s return to Ghana has sparked mixed reactions on social media, with many users expressing curiosity and admiration, while others referenced the ongoing family dispute. Despite the controversy, her appearance at the APD event was widely noted as graceful and composed.

Earlier reports also indicated that Odo Broni recently visited Daddy Lumba’s Nsu Pa water factory, an action that similarly generated debate and discussion among Ghanaians online.

Denise Fosuh’s presence at a major continental event underscores her continued public visibility as the family navigates unresolved legal and personal matters following the death of one of Ghana’s most celebrated musicians.
