A Nigerian woman has taken to social media to express distress following what she described as a forceful and unlawful eviction from her residence by her landlord over unpaid rent.
In a widely circulated video, the woman claimed she was behind on rent for eight months when the landlord allegedly ordered her removal from the apartment. According to her account, the eviction was carried out without prior notice or adherence to any legal eviction process.
She further alleged that her personal belongings were removed from the apartment and dumped outside in her absence. The visibly emotional tenant lamented the situation while displaying her displaced property.
“I did nothing wrong to this man. I was owing him only eight months’ rent, and he threw me out. Just look at my belongings. For him to have the mind to do this, I will leave his house,” she said tearfully in the video.
The incident has since sparked conversations online, with many users debating tenants’ rights, landlords’ responsibilities, and the legality of forceful evictions without court orders.
