Nigerian rapper and activist Falz has set social media buzzing after launching a fierce attack on political leaders and religious institutions over Nigeria’s worsening insecurity and lack of accountability.
In an emotional commentary, Falz expressed frustration over the endless cycle of violent attacks across the country, questioning why mass killings are routinely followed by nothing more than official statements — with no arrests, no prosecutions, and no justice.
“People Are Being Killed, Then We Move On”
Falz referenced recent killings in parts of the country, lamenting that after dozens — sometimes hundreds — of lives are lost, government response often stops at expressions of sympathy.
According to him, leaders issue statements, visit affected areas briefly, and then move on, while citizens are left unprotected and forgotten.
“Who has been arrested? Who has been prosecuted?” he questioned, insisting that the absence of consequences has normalised violence.
Falz Calls Out Religious Leaders
The rapper didn’t stop at government officials.
He also criticised religious leaders for encouraging Nigerians to rely solely on prayer while allowing politicians to use church platforms for political campaigns.
Falz argued that this practice conditions voters to keep supporting leaders who have failed them, all while masking political responsibility behind spiritual language.
He accused some church leaders of avoiding difficult conversations about governance, justice, and accountability, choosing instead to push prayer as the only solution.
“They Won’t Tell You the Truth”
Falz further condemned lawmakers for refusing to amend the Electoral Act to allow real-time electronic transmission of election results, suggesting that the resistance is deliberate and aimed at preserving loopholes for electoral manipulation.
According to him, religious leaders often remain silent on such critical issues, while encouraging their followers to trust the same political system that continues to fail them.
A Call to Wake Up
In his closing remarks, Falz urged Nigerians to reflect deeply on long-standing voting patterns and civic behaviour, warning that meaningful change would remain impossible without awareness, accountability, and informed participation.
His message was blunt: until Nigerians stop repeating the same cycles, the country will remain stuck.
As expected, his comments have triggered intense reactions online — with many praising him for speaking uncomfortable truths, while others accuse him of being too harsh.
But one thing is clear: Falz has once again forced a national conversation — and Nigerians are listening 👀🔥🇳🇬
