A content creator in Kogi State has reportedly been apprehended by his own father after a controversial video in which he declared he could “sacrifice his parents for the All Progressives Congress (APC)” sparked outrage online.
The young man, identified on social media as Mc Isa Aha, shared the video earlier this week. In the clip, he made the shocking statement while expressing strong support for the ruling party. The comment quickly went viral, drawing widespread criticism across multiple platforms.
Viral Video Triggers Backlash
Social media users reacted strongly to the statement, describing it as disturbing and reckless. Many criticized what they viewed as an example of extreme political loyalty taken too far.
While some commenters suggested the remark may have been an attempt to gain attention or trend online, others argued that such statements should not be trivialized, especially given the country’s sensitive political climate.
Father Reportedly Takes Action
According to a post shared by a close friend of the content creator, his father intervened after seeing the viral clip and allegedly had him arrested on Tuesday evening.
The friend wrote:
“Mc Isa Aha was arrested by his father this evening because of the video he posted saying he can sacrifice his parents for APC. Please, my good people, help us beg his father to release my friend. It was a mistake and it will never happen again.”
The post appealed to the public to plead for leniency, describing the incident as an error in judgment.
The situation has continued to generate debate online, with many Nigerians discussing the limits of political expression, the pursuit of social media attention, and the role of family discipline in addressing controversial behavior.
