Pastor Adeboye shared that he sold a limousine he was gifted and used the proceeds to buy motorcycles for his pastors.

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has shared a heartfelt testimony detailing how he handled expensive gifts during the early years of his ministry.

Speaking at a church thanksgiving service, Pastor Adeboye recalled his surprise when an elderly woman gifted him a Mercedes-Benz at a time when he was still commuting by public transport. The gesture, though generous, left him unsettled.

“I almost said, ‘Alakoba wo le leyi?’ I hope this person is not trying to get me into trouble,” he recounted.

Unsure of what to do with the luxury car, Pastor Adeboye explained that he parked it and refrained from using it. However, he later received a divine warning in a dream for rejecting the woman’s generosity.

“Why are you robbing my daughter of her blessing? She sowed a seed, and you are not allowing the seed to germinate,” he quoted God as saying.

Following this instruction, Pastor Adeboye said he handed the car over to his late deputy, Pastor Abiodun. Despite Abiodun’s advice that he keep and enjoy the gift, he insisted on giving it away. Shortly afterward, he received three additional Mercedes-Benz vehicles—an experience he described as astonishing.

While still reflecting on what to do with the new gifts, Pastor Adeboye revealed that a man arrived at his residence around 2:00 a.m. with a rare six-door Mercedes limousine, claiming that God had instructed him to deliver it immediately.

“I said to God, ‘Even if I die and they put me in this car, I will wake up. Will you permit me to sell the car?’” he recalled.

After praying and receiving approval, Pastor Adeboye said he sold the luxury limousine and used the proceeds to purchase motorcycles for his pastors, enabling them to carry out their ministerial duties more effectively.

“I remember selling it and using the money to buy motorcycles for my pastors,” he concluded.
