Cole Palmer Dismisses Chelsea Exit Rumours, Praises Life Under Liam Rosenior

Chelsea forward Cole Palmer has played down speculation linking him with a move away from Stamford Bridge, insisting he is happy at the club and thriving under head coach Liam Rosenior.

The England international delivered a standout performance on Saturday, scoring a first-half hat-trick in Chelsea’s 3–1 Premier League victory over Wolves at Molineux. His display came amid reports suggesting he was unsettled in west London and considering a return to northern England.

Palmer opened the scoring from the penalty spot after João Pedro was fouled in the box, calmly sending goalkeeper José Sá the wrong way. He doubled Chelsea’s advantage minutes later with another penalty following a second foul on Pedro. The 23-year-old then completed his hat-trick from open play, finishing powerfully at close range after a cutback from Marc Cucurella.

Palmer Responds to Speculation

Speaking after the match on BBC Match of the Day, Palmer dismissed the rumours surrounding his future.

“Everyone loves to chat rubbish, don’t they? I don’t pay too much attention to it,” he said. “You see things, but I feel like I’ve come from a strong place anyway, so I don’t let it bother me.”

Palmer celebrated his third goal by covering his ears—an apparent response to the ongoing speculation. The forward has been linked with a potential move to Manchester United, the club he supported as a boy, following a season affected by injuries and inconsistent form.

Thriving Under New Management

Palmer has now scored four goals under Rosenior and says he is enjoying the freedom and confidence instilled by the new coaching staff.

“Life under Liam is amazing. He gives us all confidence,” Palmer said. “He lets us be ourselves and play freely. When I’m fully fit again, you’ll see the best of me. The manager and the staff give us belief on the training pitch, through their ideas and the way we play. I really like it.”

Chelsea’s victory leaves them fifth in the Premier League, just outside the top four and firmly within reach of the Champions League qualification places. With Palmer returning to form, the Blues will be hopeful of sustaining their momentum as they push further up the table.
