Curfew on Binduri and Surrounding Areas Lifted – Peace Efforts Urged

The Ministry of Interior has officially lifted the curfew previously imposed on Binduri township and its surrounding communities in the Upper East Region of Ghana.

The curfew was initially enforced following the escalation of the Bawku conflict, which had heightened tensions in the area.

Following recommendations from the Upper East Regional Security Council and an executive directive, authorities have decided to lift the curfew, signaling a step toward restoring normalcy in the region.

In a statement, the government appealed to Chiefs, opinion leaders, youth, and residents to exercise restraint and engage in peaceful, non-violent measures to address local challenges and maintain harmony in the community.

The Interior Ministry emphasized the importance of collaboration among local leaders and citizens to prevent future unrest and ensure sustained peace.
