Three children who went missing in Tamale over the weekend were found dead in a parked car in Koblimahagu Zuo, Tamale Metropolis, leaving the community reeling in shock.
The three children, whose ages were given as three, five and eight, were found dead on a Monday morning, two days after they went missing on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
A search and rescue operation was underway for the children after they went missing, with authorities asking people to come forward with any information that could lead to their whereabouts.
It is yet to be revealed how the children came to be found dead in the parked vehicle nor the cause of their death.
Seidu Fuseini, the Assemblyman for the constituency, who spoke to the media on the incident, said police were holding the owner of the vehicle in which the children were found dead while investigations were underway.
He said the owner of the vehicle said he had locked the doors of the car from outside before he left it with the children.
Mohammed Juuna, a family member of one of the deceased children, shared a post on social media which read: “Inside a parked car within the vicinity of my brother’s house in the community, little fingers were found permanently attached”.
The bodies of the children were taken to the morgue at Tamale Teaching Hospital where post-mortems will be performed as police investigate the incident.
