"I’m Going to the UN!" – Abronye DC Drops Bombshell Petition Against Ken Agyapong and Ghana Police Over Death Threats and Botched Suale Case

Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, has announced his intention to petition the United Nations Security Council over what he describes as credible threats to his life—and the failure of the Ghana Police Service to deliver justice in the murder of investigative journalist Ahmed Suale.

In a fiery social media post on Friday, Abronye DC declared that his formal complaint would target both outspoken politician Kennedy Agyapong and the police hierarchy, citing personal danger and institutional negligence.

"The police invited, interrogated, cautioned, and granted bail to a key suspect in the Ahmed Suale murder—a case that was once a major campaign promise of the opposition NDC," Abronye wrote. "Months later, the CID boss publicly assured Ghanaians that investigations were ongoing. Yet, days after that press conference, the very same suspect who had been released on bail received a pickup vehicle and motorbikes from the police."

He raised a pointed question that has stirred public debate: "Has the investigation been compromised?"

Abronye further drew a disturbing timeline, reminding the public that Suale's photographs were broadcast on Net2 TV—a platform owned by Kennedy Agyapong—just days before the journalist was shot and killed in 2019.

"The same person is at it again," Abronye charged. "Two days ago, he appeared on Net2 TV and issued a direct threat against my life, stating that I would ‘see what happens’ in the coming days. The police have remained conspicuously silent."

He added, "Was Ahmed Suale’s murder a contract killing? And is the same individual now plotting to have me eliminated?"

The NPP regional chairman vowed that his petition to the UN Security Council would demand accountability from both the outspoken politician and the Ghana Police Service, whom he accuses of failing to protect citizens and uphold the rule of law.
