Decisive Victory in the North: Adam Samba Retains NPP Northern Regional Chairmanship with Overwhelming Delegate Mandate

TAMALE, GHANA — In a resounding endorsement of continuity and grassroots organizational leadership, Mohammed Baatima Adam—popularly known across political circles as Adam Samba—has officially secured a decisive victory to retain his position as the Northern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The high-stakes regional executive elections, conducted on Saturday, August 15, saw delegates gather to chart the strategic administrative direction of the party. When the final ballots were tallied, Adam Samba emerged triumphantly with 215 votes, decisively defeating his primary contender, Inusah Amadu, who polled 122 votes. The margin reflects a clear and decisive mandate from the regional electoral college, reaffirming Samba’s political dominance and operational stewardship across the Northern Region.

Strategic Focus: Revitalizing Grassroots and Securing the Parliamentary Majority

Adam Samba’s successful re-election places him at the helm of party operations during a crucial transformative period. As the New Patriotic Party actively reorganizes its internal structures to optimize electoral prospects ahead of the 2028 General Elections, the Northern Region remains a key battleground territory.

Following the declaration of the official results, Chairman Samba addressed party faithfuls and media representatives, offering an inspiring message of unity, gratitude, and tactical determination. Expressing profound appreciation to the NPP Regional Election Committee, party delegates, national executives, and polling station officers whose steadfast dedication ensured a peaceful and transparent electoral process, Samba outlined his immediate priority: turning internal party unity into decisive parliamentary seats.

"Our paramount duty is to secure the majority of parliamentary seats in the Northern Region. Insha Allah, by the grace of Almighty Allah, we shall deliver this vision to the party," Samba declared, signaling a bold operational posture for his upcoming tenure.

Charting the Path to 2028: Key Priorities for the Regional Leadership

Under Adam Samba’s renewed mandate, the Northern Regional NPP Secretariat is set to execute a targeted organizational blueprint aimed at expanding the party's footprint:

  • Grassroots Mobilization: Deepening engagement with local polling station executives, youth wings, and community leaders across all constituencies in the region.

  • Party Cohesion & Reconciliation: Unifying regional factions and supporters post-election to present an undivided, formidable front against political opponents.

  • Parliamentary Seat Reclamation: Developing constituency-specific strategies to reclaim lost parliamentary seats and defend existing holds in upcoming legislative contests.

  • Policy Communication: Effectively highlighting national development projects, agricultural investments, and infrastructure achievements to rural and urban electorates throughout Northern Ghana.

With the elections concluded, the NPP leadership in the Northern Region turns its full energy toward strategic planning, voter registration drives, and political outreach—positioning Adam Samba and his executive team as pivotal architects in the party's broader national strategy.
