Deputy Minister-Designate for Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry, Sampson Ahi, Vows to Establish Cocoa Processing Company in Western North
Sampson Ahi, the Deputy Minister-Designate for Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry, has pledged to oversee the establishment of a cocoa processing company in the Western North region by the conclusion of his tenure.
During his vetting before Parliament’s Appointments Committee, Ahi underscored the critical role of industrialisation in fostering economic growth and generating employment, especially in agricultural sectors. He highlighted that this initiative aligns with the government’s broader objectives to enhance local production, add value to raw materials, and create new job opportunities.
"In line with the NDC manifesto, we are committed to advancing industrialisation. I look forward to seeing a cocoa processing facility in place by the end of my tenure, which will enable the processing of cocoa beans locally. Additionally, I will focus on identifying other regions with competitive advantages in agricultural production to establish factories for the processing of various farm products," Ahi remarked.
