The planned “Celebration of Life” event for Ghanaian music legend Daddy Lumba has been abruptly put on hold following a legal intervention by the Accra High Court.
Originally scheduled for March 28 and 29, 2026, the tribute event has now been thrown into uncertainty after the court adjourned an injunction case to April 23, 2026.
This latest development comes months after Daddy Lumba’s controversial funeral held on December 13, 2025. In response to lingering concerns, some of his immediate family members—including his sister, Ernestina Fosuh, alongside Papa Shee—announced plans to host a second memorial event in his honor.
However, the move quickly sparked internal disagreements. Family head Kofi Owusu formally challenged the event by filing an injunction at the Accra High Court, effectively halting preparations.

On March 25, key figures tied to the case—including Ernestina Fosuh, Papa Shee, and Daddy Lumba’s first wife, Akosua Serwaa—appeared before the court as proceedings unfolded.
Following deliberations, the court postponed the case to April 23, leaving the fate of the highly anticipated celebration hanging in the balance.
With tensions still simmering within the family, fans and the general public are left waiting to see whether the tribute event will eventually go ahead—or be permanently called off.
