BREAKING: Monster Blizzard Set to Slam Minnesota This Weekend — Up to 18 Inches of Snow Expected!

Minnesota is preparing for a major winter storm that could bring blizzard conditions, dangerous travel, and massive snowfall across the state.

The National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard Warning for large parts of Minnesota, including the Twin Cities metro area, with forecasters warning that travel could become very difficult — or even impossible — by early Sunday.

🌨️ What’s Coming: • Snow begins Saturday evening

• Heaviest snow arrives overnight into Sunday

• 10–18 inches of snow possible in some areas

• Wind gusts up to 45 mph

• Snowfall rates could reach 1–3 inches per hour

By midnight Saturday, the metro area could already see 1–3 inches of accumulation, with conditions worsening quickly overnight.

⚠️ Travel Warning:

Heavy snow, strong winds, and blowing snow are expected to dramatically reduce visibility, creating dangerous road conditions across the state.

Officials say roads may become nearly impossible to travel on in some areas by Sunday morning.

🚨 State Emergency Declared

Governor Tim Walz has declared a peacetime emergency, allowing the Minnesota National Guard to assist with emergency operations if needed.

Despite recent hints of spring weather, officials say a March snowstorm like this can still pack a serious punch.

📢 Residents are urged to: ✅ Avoid unnecessary travel

✅ Prepare for possible power outages

✅ Monitor weather updates closely

✅ Check for school closures and delays

Meteorologists say this storm could impact much of Minnesota and parts of western Wisconsin, with conditions changing rapidly as the system moves in.
