Two people have lost their lives in a tragic tipper truck accident that occurred in Senchi, located in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region.
The incident happened on Thursday, May 28, near the Senchi market area. According to preliminary reports, a tipper truck with registration number GR 2135-22 overturned under circumstances that are still unclear.
A joint rescue team from the Ghana Police Service and the Fire Service arrived first at the scene and confirmed that both occupants of the vehicle died instantly.
The accident caused significant traffic congestion along the route for several hours. However, police personnel have since cleared the area, allowing vehicular traffic to return to normal.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the crash to determine the contributing factors.
Meanwhile, efforts are underway to identify the deceased individuals. Their remains have been transported to a mortuary for preservation and further examination.
