Massive Drug Bust: NACOC Seizes 5 Million Tapentadol Tablets in Major Operation

The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has successfully intercepted a massive drug shipment in a major anti-narcotics operation. In a strategic crackdown, NACOC agents seized approximately five million tablets of Tapentadol, a powerful 250mg painkiller, hidden in a 40-foot trailer.

The operation was a result of months of intelligence gathering, with officers carefully monitoring the trailer’s movement. The shipment, which was en route to Niger, was halted before it could leave the country.

Authorities have arrested four individuals in connection with the trafficking attempt. These suspects are currently in custody, cooperating with investigations to unravel the full scope of the operation and potentially expose a broader network involved in cross-border drug trafficking.

Tapentadol is a potent opioid-based painkiller, often targeted for abuse due to its opioid properties. If distributed illegally, the drug can pose serious public health risks. NACOC officials have stated that this interception has effectively prevented a large quantity of the drug from entering the black market.

Ongoing investigations are expected to lead to more arrests as authorities continue to track the criminals behind the shipment.

Stay tuned for updates as the operation unfolds.
