Former fetish priestess turned evangelist, Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, has been released from prison after serving eight months of a revised custodial sentence. She was discharged from the Nsawam Prison and has since reunited with her husband and family.
Her return home was confirmed by her husband, Asiamah, who shared the news in a Facebook post on Tuesday, March 3, expressing gratitude for her release and announcing that she was finally back with her loved ones. The reunion marks the end of a challenging period for the controversial religious figure and her family.
Nana Agradaa was initially sentenced on July 3, 2025, to 15 years’ imprisonment after being found guilty of defrauding by false pretence and engaging in charlatanic advertisement. The ruling followed legal proceedings in which the court determined that she had deceived members of the public through fraudulent representations.
However, her legal team challenged the severity of the sentence, arguing that the 15-year term was excessive in relation to the offences. Upon review, the Amasaman High Court reduced the sentence to 12 calendar months, describing the original punishment as harsh.
Following the revision, Nana Agradaa became eligible for release under Ghana’s remission guidelines, which allow certain prisoners to be discharged after serving two-thirds of their sentence, subject to good behaviour and other statutory requirements. Having met these conditions, she was officially freed after completing eight months in custody.

Sources close to the evangelist indicate that she is expected to join members of her church for fellowship later in the day. The gathering will mark her first public appearance since regaining her freedom and is anticipated to draw significant attention from supporters and critics alike.
Nana Agradaa’s case has generated widespread public debate, reflecting broader discussions about religious accountability, consumer protection, and the enforcement of laws against fraudulent practices. Her release signals a new chapter in her personal and spiritual journey as she resumes life outside prison under renewed public scrutiny.
