Multiple award-winning gospel musician Stella Aba Seal has revealed that she lost two jobs at the beginning of her professional journey after refusing to comply with inappropriate demands from her employers.
In an interview with media personality Kafui Dey, shared on X on February 27, 2026, the veteran singer reflected on the uncomfortable conditions attached to her early employment. According to her, both of her first two supervisors expected her to spend time with them after working hours—requests she consistently declined because they conflicted with her personal values and faith.
Seal recounted that her employers often suggested going out for drinks after work. However, she made it clear that such engagements were not aligned with her priorities. She explained that at the close of the workday, she preferred to return home or attend church rather than socialize in ways she considered inappropriate.
Her refusal to meet these expectations ultimately led to the loss of both positions. In one instance, she said her employer directly stated that he could not continue working with her if she was unwilling to accompany him after hours. Rather than compromise her principles, Seal chose to walk away.
Reflecting on those experiences, the gospel artiste emphasized that maintaining her integrity was more important than retaining employment under questionable conditions. She noted that although the decisions came at a cost, she has no regrets about standing firm in her convictions.
Beyond sharing her personal story, Seal used the opportunity to address the broader issue of workplace exploitation. She cautioned men in positions of authority against demanding sexual favors or inappropriate relationships from women seeking employment. Describing the practice as abusive and exploitative, she questioned the moral and professional justification for such behavior.
She further expressed concern that these demands often persist even after women marry or become pregnant, underscoring what she views as a troubling pattern of misconduct in certain work environments.

Seal concluded with a strong warning about the consequences of such actions, stating that individuals who exploit others will eventually face repercussions. She stressed that unethical conduct carries lasting effects, not only for those directly involved but potentially for their families as well.
Through her testimony, Stella Aba Seal has added her voice to ongoing conversations about workplace ethics, personal integrity, and the need for safer professional environments for women.
