UFC Freedom Fights 250: Topuria vs. Gaethje and Pereira vs. Gane Headline Historic White House Event

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has officially announced the main matchups for its historic event scheduled to take place at the White House. The card, titled UFC Freedom Fights 250, will feature two high-profile title fights and several additional bouts showcasing top talent across multiple weight divisions.

The main event will see undefeated lightweight champion Ilia Topuria defend his title against interim champion Justin Gaethje. The co-main event will feature two-division champion Alex Pereira taking on Ciryl Gane for the interim heavyweight championship.

UFC officials revealed the matchups during the broadcast of UFC 326. The event is scheduled for June 14 and coincides with the 80th birthday of Donald Trump. It will also commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States, making it one of the most symbolic events in the promotion’s history.

The fight card will include four additional bouts. A bantamweight matchup will feature Sean O'Malley against Aiemann Zahabi. In the lightweight division, Mauricio Ruffy will face veteran contender Michael Chandler. Rising middleweight prospect Bo Nickal is set to fight Kyle Daukaus, while featherweights Diego Lopes and Steve Garcia will meet in another featured contest.

Topuria enters the main event with a perfect 17–0 professional record. The 29-year-old Spanish star has gained a reputation as one of the sport’s most dangerous knockout artists. He captured the UFC lightweight championship in June after moving up from featherweight and defeating Charles Oliveira via first-round knockout. After briefly stepping away in late 2025 to address personal matters, Topuria now returns to make his first title defense and could eventually move up to the welterweight division.

Gaethje, 37, brings extensive experience into the bout with a 27–5 record. This fight marks his third attempt at capturing the undisputed UFC lightweight title. He previously fell short against legendary fighters Khabib Nurmagomedov and Oliveira. Gaethje secured the interim title earlier this year by defeating Paddy Pimblett via unanimous decision in Las Vegas.

Meanwhile, the co-main event could make history for Pereira. The Brazilian star has already held UFC titles at middleweight and light heavyweight and now seeks a third belt at heavyweight. His opponent, Gane, is a former interim heavyweight champion who remains one of the division’s most technical fighters.

The UFC’s undisputed heavyweight champion, Tom Aspinall, will retain his title while recovering from eye injuries sustained during his previous bout with Gane. That fight ended in a no-contest after Aspinall was unable to continue due to an accidental eye poke.

With championship stakes, elite fighters, and a historic location, UFC Freedom Fights 250 is expected to be one of the most memorable events in mixed martial arts history.
