According to ECG, the disruptions follow a **fire outbreak at the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) substation in Akosombo**, which has significantly reduced power supply across the country.

### ⚠️ Why the Lights Are Going Off

The incident at the Akosombo substation has affected electricity transmission nationwide, forcing ECG to implement **load management measures** to stabilize the national grid.

### ⏰ When Will It Happen?

The outages will occur **in phases throughout the day**, depending on your location:

* **Eastern Region:**

  Power cuts scheduled between:

  * 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM

  * 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM

  * 6:00 PM – 12:00 AM

* **Ashanti Region:**

  Some areas will experience outages **from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM** due to emergency maintenance at the Asawinso Bulk Supply Point.

  Several communities will also be affected, with some outages **extending into April 30**.

### 🔧 What ECG Is Saying

ECG has assured customers that engineers are working around the clock to **restore stability to the national grid**. Power will be restored as soon as the situation improves.
