Ghanaian singer Mzbel has finally broken her silence after facing heavy criticism over her son, Okomfo Black, and his controversial views on religion.
Speaking in a recent interview, she questioned why society claims to support freedom of worship, yet quickly attacks people whose beliefs are different.
According to her, her son is simply expressing what he understands about life — not trying to offend anyone.
“He doesn’t believe there’s a God sitting somewhere controlling everything,” she explained.
Mzbel went further to defend his stance, saying: “If you ask him who created him, he’ll tell you he wasn’t created — he was born. And that’s the truth. I gave birth to him.”
Despite the backlaAash, she insists her son is not against religion but is only sharing his personal understanding.
The “16 Years” hitmaker also opened up about her parenting style, revealing that she doesn’t force beliefs on her children.
“I don’t program them. I guide them,” she said.
While she admits the public criticism affects her, Mzbel remains firm — choosing to raise her children to think for themselves rather than follow blindly.
