The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has confirmed 27 new cases of Mpox, increasing the country's cumulative number of infections to 494.
According to the GHS update issued on Monday, September 1, 2025, one patient is currently undergoing treatment for the virus.
This latest development marks a continued rise in cases. On August 28, 21 new infections were reported, raising the total to 467. Just days earlier, on August 25, the GHS recorded 22 new cases, bringing the cumulative figure to 446 at that time.
Health officials have reiterated that Mpox is primarily transmitted through close contact with infected individuals. Common symptoms include fever, headache, muscle aches, swollen lymph nodes, and a distinctive skin rash.
The GHS is urging the public to remain vigilant, practice good hygiene, and seek immediate medical attention if any symptoms of the disease appear.
