Lawyer Abena Nyarko Appiah has shared a poignant memory of when a teacher discouraged her from pursuing a career in journalism. Speaking in an interview on GhPage, she opened up about her childhood dream and the painful setback she encountered early in life.

As a young student, Lawyer Nyarko Appiah was always passionate about becoming a journalist. She recalled that whenever her teachers would ask the class about their future aspirations, she would proudly stand and declare her desire to enter the journalism field. However, her enthusiasm was met with a discouraging response from one of her teachers.

The teacher, according to Lawyer Nyarko Appiah, explicitly told her that her background and financial circumstances would prevent her from achieving her dream of becoming a journalist. This statement, she confessed, deeply affected her and caused her to temporarily abandon her ambition to pursue other interests.

Despite the teacher’s discouraging words, Lawyer Nyarko Appiah has now found success in her legal career, showing that dreams are not easily deterred by negative words. Her story serves as a testament to perseverance and the importance of not letting others define one's potential.
