Award-winning Ghanaian musician Mohammed Ismail Sherif, popularly known as Black Sherif, has reportedly acquired a new property, marking another milestone in his flourishing career.
The news was shared on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, by renowned Ghanaian blogger Zionfelix, who posted an excerpt from Black Sherif’s Substack publication on Facebook. In the post, the musician reflected on the achievement, writing: “I spent this morning on the balcony of my first property, realizing the boy who once wandered finally has a place to look at the world from.”
Zionfelix also shared photos showing Black Sherif and some of his associates inside the residence, including images of them posing in the dining area while displaying large sums of Ghana cedi notes. Another photo captured the Sacrifice hitmaker resting on a couch in pyjamas while holding several US dollar bills.
In addition to the property announcement, Black Sherif revealed plans to release his first song of 2026 on Friday, February 13, 2026.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with YEN.com.gh, the musician’s Public Relations Manager, Kingsley Boateng, confirmed the acquisition. “He has bought a house. He has a house,” he stated.
Response to Rent Arrears Lawsuit
The property acquisition comes amid earlier reports that Black Sherif had been ordered by a court to pay rent arrears amounting to GH¢229,500. On January 7, 2026, it was reported that the musician had been sued by his landlord at the Adentan Frafraha District Court over alleged unpaid rent on a residence in Accra dating back to August 2024.
According to the reports, the unpaid rent, including accrued interest, prompted the landlord to seek legal action. However, Ghanaian journalist NYDJ later clarified that the property at the centre of the lawsuit was not Black Sherif’s personal residence but rather the offices of RBA Studios.
On January 23, 2026, a video surfaced on social media showing Black Sherif interacting with fans on Snapchat. When asked whether he owed rent, the musician responded by sharing a video of Ghanaian preacher Bishop Daniel Obinim during his 2016 arrest, in which the preacher declared, “Yesu adi nkunim” (“Jesus is victorious”). Many interpreted the response as a confident indication that Black Sherif expected a favourable outcome in the ongoing case.
Public Reactions
The news of Black Sherif’s property acquisition sparked reactions across social media. Some fans praised the musician for his resilience and success, while others congratulated him on the achievement.
As Black Sherif prepares to release his first single of 2026, the latest developments underscore both his continued relevance in Ghana’s music industry and his ability to rise above controversy while celebrating personal milestones.
