Social media activist Verydarkman has publicly criticized nightlife entrepreneur Cubana Chief Priest over his political alignment with the All Progressives Congress (APC), referencing the continued detention of IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu.
In a video that has since gone viral, Verydarkman accused Cubana Chief Priest of seeking influence and public approval while aligning himself with the “City Boy Movement,” a slogan widely associated with supporters of President Bola Tinubu.
The activist questioned the businessman’s political stance, alleging that his earlier rhetoric—particularly comments suggesting that political support in the South-East was tied to Nnamdi Kanu’s release—appears to have changed. According to Verydarkman, the shift raises concerns about consistency and sincerity.
He further stated that his respect for Cubana Chief Priest now depends on tangible outcomes, specifically pointing to Kanu’s continued detention. Verydarkman argued that political endorsements should yield meaningful results for the people rather than serve as tools for personal gain or influence.
In his remarks, he accused Cubana Chief Priest of leveraging public sentiment for clout and urged him to demonstrate genuine commitment through action. He maintained that public figures who openly align with political movements should be prepared to show measurable impact, particularly on issues they previously highlighted.
The video has sparked widespread reactions online, with social media users debating the responsibilities of celebrities and influencers in political matters, as well as the broader implications of their public endorsements.
