WAEC Releases 2025 Second Series CB-WASSCE Results for Private Candidates

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced the release of the 2025 Second Series Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (CB-WASSCE) results for private candidates.

The announcement was made on Monday by Moyosola Adesina, Acting Head of the Public Affairs Unit at the WAEC National Office in Lagos. A total of 69,604 candidates registered for the examination, reflecting a 1.8 percent increase from the 68,342 candidates recorded in 2024. Of this number, 65,752 candidates sat for the examination across 370 centres nationwide.

According to WAEC, 33,989 candidates, representing 51.69 percent, obtained credits and above in at least five subjects, with or without English Language and Mathematics. Meanwhile, 27,727 candidates, representing 42.17 percent, achieved credits in five subjects including English Language and Mathematics, a key requirement for university admission and employment opportunities.

Among the successful candidates, 13,416 were male (48.39 percent), while 14,311 were female (51.61 percent).

The examination also accommodated candidates with special needs, including those with visual and hearing impairments, as well as albinism, ensuring inclusive participation.

However, 1,899 candidates (2.89 percent) had their results withheld over alleged examination malpractice. WAEC stated that investigations are ongoing, and affected candidates will be notified upon conclusion.

Candidates can access their results through the WAEC Direct Portal and obtain digital certificates via the council’s official website. Hard copy certificates are available upon request through the WAEC Certificate Request Portal (e-Certman).
