Bryan Acheampong a “Breath of Fresh Air” in NPP Primaries – Mussa Dankwah

Executive Director of Global Info Analytics, Mussa Dankwah, has shared his assessment of the recent New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer primaries, describing Bryan Acheampong’s performance as refreshing and impactful.

Speaking during an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme, Dankwah said one of the biggest surprises of the primaries was Acheampong’s strong showing in the Volta Region.

“My biggest surprise in the election was Bryan Acheampong winning in the Volta Region,” he stated.

Overall, Dankwah rated the conduct and outcome of the primaries as relatively smooth, noting that some candidates performed below expectations. He observed that Kennedy Agyapong’s results fell short of even the most conservative projections.

According to Dankwah, events that occurred in the weeks leading up to the primaries also influenced voter decisions. He added that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia ran a focused and steady campaign, making his performance largely predictable.

Commenting further on Bryan Acheampong’s appeal, Dankwah explained that the former minister brought renewed energy to the race.

“Bryan was a breath of fresh air for the delegates. Many of the things Kennedy campaigned on were also achievable by Bryan, and he had the added advantage of age,” he said.

Dankwah’s analysis highlighted how Acheampong’s emergence resonated with delegates, while Bawumia’s consistency helped consolidate his support base throughout the primaries.
