A Nigerian woman has set social media ablaze after sharing her blunt take on modern relationships, claiming that many women are not dating for love but for financial security.
In a now-viral video, the lady argued that men are often the ones who enter relationships emotionally, while some women prioritize provision over affection. According to her, financial stability is the real foundation of many relationships today.
“All these girls don’t love,” she said. “It’s men that go into relationships for love. Some girls are in relationships for provision. If you can give them what they need, they will give you their body.”
She went further to claim that some women use one relationship as a stepping stone—stabilizing their lives with one partner before moving on to someone wealthier.
Advising men, she urged them to focus on self-development instead of being overly emotional in relationships.
“As a man, make yourself your number one priority,” she added. “A woman can just be pretty and one guy will send her ₦2 million or ₦5 million. But you as a man, who will give you free money?”
Her comments quickly triggered mixed reactions online. While some viewers agreed with her perspective, others criticized her for generalizing and painting all women with the same brush.
One social media user wrote, “She’s not entirely wrong, but not every woman is dating for money.” Another countered, “Men also date for what they can get. Let’s stop acting like it’s one-sided.”
The viral clip has reignited the ongoing conversation about love, money, gender roles, and priorities in today’s dating culture—once again proving that when it comes to relationships, opinions are never in short supply.
