In a viral post, the woman reflected on how men were once more willing to pay for meals and outings when spending time with women at restaurants. She contrasted those experiences with a recent incident that left her disappointed.
According to her account, she visited a food outlet to purchase a shawarma priced at ₦3,000 but was surprised that none of the men present offered to cover the cost. The experience, she said, highlighted what she believes is a noticeable shift in social expectations.
Expressing her frustration, the woman used the slang term “aka gum” to describe men she considers overly stingy, questioning why gestures of generosity that were once common now appear rare.
