QNET, the global direct selling company, has intensified its efforts to fight fraud and impersonation in Sub-Saharan Africa, reporting significant progress in curbing scams conducted under its name. The company is reinforcing its commitment to public awareness, stakeholder collaboration, and partnerships with law enforcement to tackle these challenges head-on.
During a recent briefing in Malaysia with visiting West African journalists, Ramya Chandrasekaran, Chief Communications Officer of QI Group (QNET’s parent company), shared an in-depth overview of QNET’s anti-scam initiatives and brand protection strategies.
“Our mission is rooted in empowerment—not exploitation,” said Chandrasekaran, underscoring the values that guide QNET’s operations.
In several African countries, QNET's brand has suffered due to scammers falsely claiming affiliation with the company to lure individuals into fake job offers, fraudulent investment schemes, and deceptive travel arrangements. To combat this, QNET has rolled out a range of public education campaigns aimed at clearly distinguishing the company’s legitimate business from the activities of impostors.
“If someone is offering visas, overseas jobs, quick riches, or asking you to travel to an unknown location under unclear circumstances, that’s not QNET,” Chandrasekaran clarified. “We are not involved in such activities. We're actively educating communities in Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, Burkina Faso, and most recently, Sierra Leone.”
Some of QNET’s flagship initiatives include the Mama Campaign, SAY NO, and QNET Against Scams. These programs focus on educating the public about QNET’s authentic business model and product offerings through diverse channels such as radio, television, social media, billboards, and local community events. All communications are delivered in multiple local languages to reach wider audiences effectively.
These outreach efforts have led to the publication of over 400 news stories, the hosting of 14 webinars, and the involvement of more than 140 journalists. Many of these media professionals now act as informal advocates, helping dispel misinformation and share accurate facts about QNET.
To make fraud reporting easier, QNET has also launched a dedicated WhatsApp hotline, allowing individuals to report suspicious activity or verify company claims directly.
Beyond public education, QNET is working closely with security forces and consumer protection agencies to devise new strategies that strengthen fraud prevention and enhance public trust.
With 26 years in the global direct selling industry and operations in over 100 countries, QNET offers a variety of products across wellness, beauty, education, and lifestyle. All items are certified to meet high quality standards and are available through www.qnet.net.
Through ongoing efforts in transparency, education, and strategic partnerships, QNET continues to build trust in African markets while actively distancing itself from fraudulent actors misusing its name.
