Kasoa Schoolgirl Found Dead in Water; Boyfriend Detained Amid Police Investigation



A tragic incident in Kasoa has left the Awutu Senya East Municipality in mourning, following the discovery of a young schoolgirl’s body in a pool of water on the night of Monday, June 23, 2025.

The victim, identified as Gloria Segoe, was reported missing earlier that evening. A team from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded to the alert and initiated a search operation. Her body was found around 10:00 p.m., approximately 40 minutes after the rescue team arrived at the scene.

Initial reports indicate that Gloria may have been in the area to visit her boyfriend. Although the circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear, the Ghana Police Service has launched a full-scale investigation.

Her boyfriend, whose name has not been disclosed, is currently in police custody and is assisting with ongoing inquiries.

“This is a devastating loss. Gloria was so young and vibrant. The entire community is in shock,” said a neighbor familiar with the deceased.

Gloria’s body has been handed over to the police as investigations continue. Authorities are urging members of the public to share any relevant information that could aid in determining what led to her untimely death.

While police have not officially confirmed whether foul play is suspected, they emphasized that all possibilities are being considered and that the investigation will be thorough.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, with residents calling for swift answers and justice for the young girl.
