Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Celebrate Lavish Wedding in Venice

Jeff Bezos, the billionaire founder of Amazon, and award-winning journalist Lauren Sánchez are officially married. The couple tied the knot on Friday, June 27, 2025, in a luxurious ceremony in Venice, Italy, following several days of glamorous, celebrity-filled festivities.

A Glamorous Ceremony in Venice

The wedding took place at the historic Arsenale, a renovated 14th-century maritime complex in Venice’s Castello district, famously used for the Venice Biennale art fair. The celebration was marked by grandeur, complete with star-studded guest appearances and opulent fashion moments.

Lauren Sánchez, now Lauren Sánchez Bezos, stunned in a custom Dolce & Gabbana gown. The high-neck silhouette featured 180 silk chiffon-covered buttons and was paired with a delicate lace-and-tulle veil, inspired by Italian film legend Sophia Loren’s look in the 1958 movie Houseboat, according to Vogue.

"I wanted something that evokes a moment and reflects where I am in life now," Sánchez told Vogue. "I’m a different person than I was five years ago."

A Star-Studded Guest List

The exclusive guest list included celebrities such as Kim, Khloé, Kendall, and Kylie Jenner, along with Kris Jenner, Oprah Winfrey, Leonardo DiCaprio and girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti, model Brooks Nader, and fellow billionaire Bill Gates.

Other attendees throughout the celebration included Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, designer Diane von Fürstenberg, Tom Brady, Orlando Bloom, and journalist Gayle King. Although invited, former President Donald Trump did not attend, according to The New York Times.

A Love Story Years in the Making

Bezos, 61, and Sánchez, 55, were first linked in 2019, shortly after both publicly announced their respective separations. Bezos finalized his divorce from MacKenzie Scott, with whom he shares four children, that same year. Sánchez was in the process of divorcing talent agent Patrick Whitesell, with whom she shares two children. She also has a child with former NFL player Tony Gonzalez.

The couple has been inseparable since, with Bezos proposing during a yacht trip to the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. The $2.5 million pink diamond engagement ring was hidden beneath Sánchez’s pillow, she revealed in Vogue.

A New Name, A New Chapter

Ahead of the wedding, Sánchez cleared her Instagram feed, leaving just three photos. Observant followers noticed she also updated her profile name and handle to reflect her new name: Lauren Sánchez Bezos (@laurensanchezbezos).

In a heartfelt interview, Sánchez reflected on her personal transformation and the deep bond she shares with Bezos. “I went into a lot of therapy, and it's changed me in a bunch of ways. But it’s really Jeff,” she said. “Jeff hasn't changed me. Jeff has revealed me. I feel safe. I feel seen.”

Not Without Controversy

While the wedding dazzled fans and onlookers, it also sparked backlash. Environmental activists and critics protested the extravagance of the event, calling on Bezos—owner of space company Blue Origin—to address global inequality and pay more in taxes. The wedding, reportedly not legally binding under Italian law, suggests the couple may have already held a legal ceremony in the U.S.

Leading Up to the Big Day

In the weeks before the wedding, Sánchez hosted a lavish bachelorette party in Paris attended by Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Eva Longoria, and Katy Perry. Throughout the celebrations in Venice, the bride and groom were frequently seen waving to crowds and traveling by motorboat between events.

After the ceremony, the couple and their guests were expected to continue festivities within the Arsenale, surrounded by canals and accessible only by boat—adding to the mystique and exclusivity of the occasion.

Ken Ofori-Atta Files Legal Action Against Special Prosecutor Over 'Wanted Person' Label

Former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, has taken legal action against the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), seeking an injunction to prevent the agency from continuing to label him as a “wanted person” or “fugitive from justice.” This legal move comes after Ofori-Atta's image and personal details were publicly displayed on the OSP's official social media pages, despite earlier assurances made in a letter dated February 18, 2025. In a motion filed by his legal team, Ofori-Atta argues that the OSP's actions violate the principles of administrative justice, specifically the right to a fair process and the protection of his personal dignity. He is requesting the immediate removal of his name from the OSP's list of wanted individuals and a court order to prevent the agency from reinstating it without prior judicial approval. Additionally, Ofori-Atta seeks an interlocutory injunction to stop the OSP from issuing any further press releases or public statements that ...
