Passport applicants in Kumasi are increasingly distressed over delays in receiving their travel documents, citing inefficiencies by the designated courier service, Troskit. Many now fear missing critical visa appointments as the issue remains unresolved.
Dozens of frustrated applicants have been visiting Troskit’s Asokwa office daily in hopes of collecting their passports. According to multiple individuals, the Passport Office has confirmed that the documents were handed over to the courier, yet applicants report no deliveries or official communication regarding the status of their items.
Several affected persons shared their experiences, highlighting weeks of uncertainty and missed deadlines. One applicant, whose visa interview is scheduled for the coming week, voiced concern over the silence from the courier.
“We’ve been waiting for weeks, and now our visa interviews are in jeopardy. No one is giving us answers. It’s very frustrating,” the applicant lamented.
In response to the growing complaints, Troskit issued a public apology, explaining that a technical malfunction had temporarily interrupted its delivery operations. The company assured the public that the issue has since been resolved and that deliveries are being processed.
Despite the assurances, many applicants remain doubtful, stating they will only be satisfied once their passports are physically delivered.
Meanwhile, tensions remain high outside Troskit’s Asokwa office, where anxious crowds continue to gather daily in search of clarity and resolution.
