GMB’s First Winner, Ama, Reveals Emotional and Financial Abuse by Pastor Ex-Boyfriend

Ama, the inaugural winner of the Ghana’s Most Beautiful (GMB) pageant, has opened up about a deeply painful chapter in her life—detailing how she endured emotional manipulation and financial exploitation at the hands of her former boyfriend, a man who also happened to be a pastor.

In a revealing interview with Cynthia Tima Kumkum on Adom FM, Ama shared the distressing aftermath of her rise to fame. While the public admired her beauty, grace, and success—including lucrative endorsement deals and a luxury car awarded by TV3—she was quietly facing personal turmoil behind closed doors.

“Despite the fame, I stayed committed to my relationship,” Ama said. “But I later realized he had hidden motives.”

According to Ama, her then-boyfriend took full control of her finances, pocketed money from her brand endorsements, and even took possession of the car she received as part of her prize package. Rather than support her success, he used it to elevate his own image.

“He would drive the car and soak up the attention, even earning the nickname ‘Ghana’s Most Handsome,’” she recounted. “It felt like he stole my shine and used me to build his own popularity.”

Her emotional account has resonated with many, igniting discussions about the exploitation of women in the public eye—especially young female celebrities who are often targeted by manipulative partners after achieving fame.

Ama’s story serves as a powerful reminder of the personal challenges that can accompany public success and highlights the urgent need to support individuals facing abuse behind the scenes.

Ken Ofori-Atta Files Legal Action Against Special Prosecutor Over 'Wanted Person' Label

Former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, has taken legal action against the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), seeking an injunction to prevent the agency from continuing to label him as a “wanted person” or “fugitive from justice.” This legal move comes after Ofori-Atta's image and personal details were publicly displayed on the OSP's official social media pages, despite earlier assurances made in a letter dated February 18, 2025. In a motion filed by his legal team, Ofori-Atta argues that the OSP's actions violate the principles of administrative justice, specifically the right to a fair process and the protection of his personal dignity. Additionally, Ofori-Atta seeks an interlocutory injunction to stop the OSP from issuing any further press releases or public statements that ...
