Ghanaian actor and YouTube star, Dr. Likee, has publicly defended prominent businessman Kofi Boat, following reports of his alleged arrest by the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
According to circulating media accounts, Kofi Boat—known for his close ties to dancehall artist Shatta Wale—was reportedly detained by U.S. authorities on suspicion of financial impropriety and possible illicit wealth accumulation.
In a recent interview aired on UTV, Dr. Likee firmly denied the allegations, describing Kofi Boat as a reputable and law-abiding entrepreneur. He stated that he has a longstanding personal relationship with the businessman and is confident in his integrity.
“I know Kofi Boat personally. He’s not involved in any fraudulent activity. He’s a genuine businessman,” Dr. Likee asserted. “Something about these allegations doesn’t make sense.”
Dr. Likee's remarks echo earlier statements made by Shatta Wale, who also urged the public to avoid making hasty judgments based on unverified claims. Both figures have called for patience as investigations continue.
Kofi Boat’s reported arrest has generated widespread discussion online and within Ghana’s entertainment industry, given his influence and connections in showbiz circles.
As of the time of this report, the FBI has not released an official statement or filed formal charges against him.
