Ewe Loyalty Foundation Supports Sogakope D.A. Basic B School with Sanitary Pad Donation

The Headmistress of Sogakope D.A. Basic B School, Mrs. Juliana Kokofi, has expressed deep appreciation to the Ewe Loyalty Foundation (ELF) for donating sanitary pads to female students as part of the Foundation’s fifth-anniversary celebration and annual general meeting held on October 24.

Promoting Menstrual Health and Education

Speaking during the presentation, ELF’s Secretary, Mr. Setor Shine, explained that the initiative forms part of a broader campaign by the Foundation to promote menstrual health and hygiene among schoolgirls, particularly in rural communities across the Volta Region.

He noted that many girls from low-income families often miss school during their menstrual periods due to the inability to afford sanitary products — a situation that affects their academic performance, confidence, and well-being.

“Our goal is to ensure that no girl misses school because of menstruation,” Mr. Shine emphasized. “By providing sanitary pads, we are helping young girls stay focused on their studies and build a sense of dignity and self-confidence.”

A Timely and Impactful Intervention

Receiving the donation, Mrs. Kokofi commended the Foundation for its thoughtful gesture, describing it as both timely and impactful. She said the lack of access to sanitary products remains a significant barrier to girls’ education and personal development.

“This support has come at a crucial time,” she remarked. “It will not only keep our girls in school but also help them manage their menstrual health with confidence and pride.”

She further noted that the initiative will go a long way toward improving school attendance, boosting morale, and fostering a more inclusive learning environment.

Empowering Girls Through Menstrual Health

The donation forms part of ELF’s broader commitment to empowering women and girls through education, health support, and community development initiatives. By addressing menstrual hygiene challenges, the Foundation aims to ensure that no student’s education is interrupted by a lack of access to basic sanitary products.

The Ewe Loyalty Foundation continues to undertake various humanitarian projects across the Volta Region, including donations to orphanages, support for disaster victims, and community welfare programs.
