Major League Soccer (MLS) has placed Ghanaian forward Yaw Yeboah on administrative leave following alleged violations of league regulations.
The Los Angeles FC winger and Columbus Crew midfielder Derrick Jones have both been temporarily suspended from all team-related activities, including training and matches, pending the outcome of an ongoing league investigation.
In an official statement, MLS confirmed the decision, stating:
“Major League Soccer has placed Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) midfielder Yaw Yeboah and Columbus Crew midfielder Derrick Jones on administrative leave pending a league review of potential violations of MLS rules. Both players will be prohibited from participating in team activities and competitions during their respective reviews.”
Yeboah joined Los Angeles FC in January 2025 on a two-year deal after leaving Columbus Crew. Since his arrival, he has impressed with strong performances, including scoring for his new club.
Details regarding the nature of the alleged violations have not been disclosed. However, MLS emphasized that both players will remain sidelined until the investigations are concluded.
