Ghana Premier League side Nations FC has officially announced the appointment of Frimpong Manso as the club’s new head coach, following the departure of Kasim Ocansey Mingle and his assistant, Johnson Smith.
In an accompanying statement, the club confirmed that Aboagye Dacosta will join Manso’s technical team as assistant coach.
“We are delighted to announce the appointment of Frimpong Manso as Head Coach and Aboagye Dacosta as his Assistant,” the club stated.
Manso, a former Ghana international, returns to the touchline only weeks after parting ways with Bibiani GoldStars—a decision made after their CAF Champions League first-leg loss to JS Kabylie.
During his tenure at GoldStars, Manso guided the team to its historic first-ever Ghana Premier League title last season, a feat that cemented his reputation as one of Ghana’s most experienced tacticians.
At Nations FC, Manso takes charge of a side looking to regain momentum after a difficult start to the 2025/26 Premier League campaign. The Abrankese-based club has recorded just two wins in seven matches, prompting swift action from the club’s management.
The veteran coach is expected to lead the team for the first time this weekend when Nations FC face Bechem United in their Matchday 8 fixture.
Manso’s appointment marks both a new chapter for Nations FC and an opportunity for him to reaffirm his standing as one of the most respected figures in Ghanaian football.
