The San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder both extended their perfect starts to the NBA season, each securing their fourth consecutive victory on Monday night.
Victor Wembanyama once again showcased his growing dominance, scoring 24 points to lead the Spurs past the Toronto Raptors with a convincing 121–103 win at the Frost Bank Center. The victory marks the first time since the 2017–18 season that San Antonio has opened a campaign with four straight wins.
Meanwhile, the Oklahoma City Thunder maintained their unbeaten run with a 101–94 triumph over the Dallas Mavericks. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder with 23 points as his team withstood a late Mavericks surge that cut a 22-point lead down to one before sealing the game.
In Utah, Lauri Markkanen delivered a career-best performance, pouring in 51 points to lift the Jazz to a thrilling 138–134 overtime victory over the Phoenix Suns at the Delta Center. His performance marked the first 50-point regular-season game by a Jazz player since Karl Malone achieved the feat in 1998.
Elsewhere, Tyrese Maxey exploded for 43 points as the Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Orlando Magic 136–124, earning their third straight win despite the absence of Joel Embiid, who sat out with a knee injury. The Chicago Bulls also continued their strong form, securing their third consecutive victory with a 128–123 win over the Atlanta Hawks.
