The Bono Regional Police Command has interdicted three officers accused of extorting money from motorists at Sampa in the Jaman North District.
According to an official statement signed by Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, the Bono Regional Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Police Service, the interdiction follows the emergence of a viral video allegedly showing the officers collecting money from drivers.
The statement, made available to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani, noted that the names of the officers have been withheld pending further investigation. Chief Inspector Akeelah assured the public that the Police Administration is committed to conducting a thorough and impartial investigation into the matter.
He emphasized that the Command remains dedicated to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and accountability within the service. The ongoing investigations are being carried out through the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB), following internal disciplinary procedures.
