Ghana Police Arrest Suspect Seen Firing Gun in Viral Jamestown Video



The Ghana Police Service has arrested 29-year-old Samuel Aryeetey Kortor, who was seen discharging a firearm in a widely circulated video filmed in Jamestown, Accra.

According to a statement shared on the official Police Service Facebook page, Kortor was apprehended on April 9, 2025, during an intelligence-led operation.

Further investigations have revealed that the suspect is also wanted by the Criminal Investigation Department’s (CID) Homicide Unit in connection with a murder case.

A search conducted at his residence in Gbese-Jamestown led to the discovery of a Beretta pistol bearing serial number PX-195994.

Kortor is currently in police custody and is assisting with ongoing investigations. Authorities have confirmed that efforts are underway to apprehend other individuals seen in the viral footage.
