On April 2, 2025, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, convened a significant meeting with former Inspectors-General of Police at the National Police Headquarters in Accra. The gathering was aimed at seeking the counsel and sharing of experiences from former IGPs to improve the administrative and operational functions of the Ghana Police Service.
The discussions covered a wide array of key topics, including the welfare of police personnel, national crime-fighting strategies, stakeholder engagement, ongoing reforms within the police force, and broader concerns regarding security, law, and order in the country. The meeting provided a platform for strengthening collaboration between the current leadership of the Ghana Police Service and its predecessors.
At the conclusion of the meeting, all parties committed to maintaining regular consultations to ensure the continuous development and effectiveness of the Ghana Police Service, thereby contributing to the nation's safety and security.
