NPP Summons Sarah Adwoa Safo to Appear Before Disciplinary Committee Over Comments on 2024 Elections
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has formally summoned Sarah Adwoa Safo, the former Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, to appear before its Disciplinary Committee. This follows her recent public comments regarding the party's performance in the 2024 general elections.
The inquiry is part of a broader investigation into the potential effects of her statements on the party’s public image and reputation. A notice, jointly signed by Patrick Boamah, the Secretary to the Disciplinary Committee, and William Yamoah, the Director of Finance and Administration, was issued on March 24, 2025.
According to the notice, Adwoa Safo is required to appear at the NPP headquarters in Asylum Down, Accra, on Monday, April 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. The hearing will take place in the party’s main conference room.
The notice further advised Ms. Safo to bring any relevant documents or witnesses she may wish to present. She is also allowed to be accompanied by legal counsel in line with the party's internal protocols.
Enclosed with the notice is a referral letter from the NPP General Secretary, outlining the specific grounds for the inquiry. The party’s communication emphasized its commitment to transparency, fairness, and due process, encouraging Ms. Safo's full cooperation with the proceedings. The NPP stressed that the purpose of the hearing is to uphold the integrity of the party and maintain high standards of internal discipline.
The correspondence also noted that key party officials, including the National Chairman, General Secretary, and Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee, have been informed of the matter.
