Kotoko Clinches Narrow Victory Over Berekum Chelsea: Dr. Ogum Reflects on Challenging Match

Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club's head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, described his team's hard-fought 1-0 victory over Berekum Chelsea as a challenging encounter. The crucial match, which saw Adrian Adjetey score in the 79th minute, lifted Kotoko back to the top of the Ghana Premier League standings.

In his post-match press conference, Dr. Ogum praised Chelsea's tactical approach and acknowledged the difficulties his team faced throughout the game. He highlighted Chelsea's strong aerial play and aggressive pursuit of both first and second balls, which posed a significant challenge to Kotoko’s midfield.

"Chelsea is very strong in the air. They are always first to the ball, whether it's a long ball behind or in front of our defense. Their aggression made it tough, particularly in the middle of the park," Ogum remarked.

He also noted that although Kotoko had several opportunities to break down Chelsea’s defense, there was a sense of urgency to score. "At times, we managed to break through their defense, but we rushed our chances. I remember missed opportunities from Peter Amidu and Kwame Opoku," Ogum added.

Despite the challenges, Ogum emphasized the significance of securing the three points. "It was a balanced and challenging game, but ultimately, the most important thing is that we won," he concluded.
