President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Dr. Alhassan Iddrisu as the Acting Government Statistician, pending consultations with the Council of State.
Dr. Iddrisu, a distinguished economist and Director of the Economic Strategy and Research Division at the Ministry of Finance, has been instrumental in macroeconomic analysis, forecasting, and policy research. He provides technical guidance for the preparation of the Ghana Macroeconomic Outlook Report and contributes to the National Budget and Economic Policy.
With an extensive background in economic research and forecasting, Dr. Iddrisu has significantly influenced key policy decisions and governance strategies. He holds a PhD in International Development Studies from Japan's National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies, along with degrees from the London School of Economics and the University of Ghana.
This appointment was confirmed in a statement signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the spokesperson for the President.
