The National Identification Authority (NIA) has officially announced that the distribution of the printed backlog of Ghana Cards will commence in Greater Accra on April 7, 2025.
In a statement released on Sunday, the NIA informed applicants who have been waiting for their cards since June 2023 that they will finally receive their Ghana Cards once the process begins.
The statement assured all Ghanaians who applied for the first issuance, replacement, or update of their personal records from June 2023 onwards that they can collect their cards at the respective District Offices where they originally registered, starting Monday, April 7, 2025.
The NIA also encouraged Ghanaians aged 15 years and older who have not yet registered for a Ghana Card to visit any district office within Greater Accra to complete their registration. While new registrations and card issuances remain free of charge, the NIA reminded the public that services such as card replacement and updates to personal records are subject to applicable fees.
The NIA further urged the public to report any staff members who request a fee for services that should be free of charge.
