First-Time Church Visit Leaves Nigerian Woman Unconvinced: Why She Never Returned

A Nigerian woman has shared her experience of attending Pastor Chris Okafor’s church for the first time, explaining why she decided never to return after just one service.

The woman, identified on Instagram as @preyemiebi, disclosed that she attended the church at the invitation of a close friend. With no prior connection to the church or its leadership, she accepted the invitation out of curiosity and trust.

According to her, the experience during the service made her deeply uncomfortable. She explained that several activities she observed felt unsettling and raised doubts in her mind. Rather than feeling inspired or spiritually uplifted, she said the atmosphere did not seem genuine to her.

As the service progressed, her unease reportedly grew stronger. She noted that what she witnessed did not align with her personal expectations of a place of worship, leading her to question the authenticity of the proceedings.

Before the programme ended, she said she had already made up her mind not to return. Trusting her instincts, she concluded that the church was simply not the right fit for her.

Sharing her thoughts, she said:

“The first day my friend took me to his church, everything he did screamed fake. I never went back. Discernment is essential in life.”

Her comments have since sparked conversations online about personal conviction, spiritual discernment, and the importance of feeling comfortable in a place of worship.
